The Institute of Hospitality has appointed The Rt Hon. Viscount Thurso as its new president following the departure of latest president Surinder Arora.
Thurso will consider demand of the institute starting 1 January 2023. He has expertise as controlling director of the Savoy Group’s Lancaster 5 Star Lodge in Paris as well as at East Sussex Countrywide Golfing Class and Champneys and Cliveden.
He has served as a non-government member on a amount of public firm boards and is chairman of the family enterprise in Caithness. He was named chair of Go to Scotland in 2016.
Also, he served as a hereditary peer in the Household of Lord till 1999. He then went on to be MP for Caithness, Sutherland and Easter Ross till 2015 ahead of returning to the Lords in 2016.
